In case you missed it, Startup Fair LA was held last Friday! We were joined by 39 companies and 550+ sign ups. Thank you to everyone who came and made this year’s event a success. The second part of the Weekly Nights Funding Series is here and we are very excited to welcome Alireza Masrour as our guest speaker.
WEEKLY NIGHTS - Funding series part 2!
Tuesday, February 8th 2022 from 7pm-8pm | via Zoom
We are excited to bring you a special event for Week 6: Funding Negotiation Workshop with Alireza Masrour, General Partner in Plug and Play Tech Center, a global technology accelerator and venture fund. He has years of experience in venture capital, being Silicon Valley's 40 Under 40 2018, met with over 5000 startups one-on-one, and invested in over 200 startups for Plug and Play which have jumped into 400x the initial valuation. In this event, our panelist will be talking about negotiating funding, term sheets, and other tips to secure the finances of your growing startup.
Reminder to apply for our Week 7 Virtual Funding Demo event!
In this special event, you will have the opportunity to speak 1-on-1 with the guest VCs, Angel Investors, and Incubators to talk about funding, advice, and establish new connections! We are looking for students who have founded startups (or are in the process of) and who will benefit most from this exclusive opportunity.
You can find recaps and the recordings of all past Weekly Nights meetings on our Notion repository (accessible here or the link below)! No worries if you’ve missed last week’s event — we have it all recorded.
BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT - introducing Crystal Huynh!
What valuable lesson from Bruin Entrepreneurs have you learned and will take with you?
“During my time at Bruin Entrepreneurs, I learned a lot about taking the initiative to learn and grow rather than wait for an opportunity, which is essentially what entrepreneurship is all about. You need to hustle for what you want and even if the people around you are willing to help, it's up to you to take the first step forward.”
After graduating…
Crystal has a few freelance opportunities in product design that she plan to work on, and she is currently recruiting for roles in product management. She will also be studying for the GMAT to eventually attend grad school.
