Congress Questions Twitter and Facebook CEOs over Election Disinformation
The CEOs of Facebook and Twitter have been summoned by Congress to answer questions about their handling of disinformation and the violence incited on their platforms during the 2020 presidential elections. Although both platforms labeled content related to voting-by-mail fraud as misinformation, Facebook unsuccessfully prevented âStop the Stealâ groups from organizing while Twitter has flagged several of President Trumpâs tweets. Zoom Lifts 40-Minute Limit on Meetings for Thanksgiving
Although most of the world has moved to Zoom for school and work in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the video chat platform originally had a 40-minute limit on their meetings. In lieu of Thanksgiving, Zoom has announced that it will be removing that limit on all meetings from 12 a.m. ET on November 26 through 6 a.m. ET on November 27. Read more here.

Startup Labs is an in-house pre-accelerator program hosted annually by UCLAâs premier entrepreneurship organization, Bruin Entrepreneurs. At Startup Labs, we select candidates at any stage based on their ingenuity, intelligence, and willingness to strive for success. Over a twelve-week period, we help our founders grow their startups by providing them with mentorship, virtual working spaces, alumni networks, weekly workshops, fireside chats, VC introductions, funding opportunities, and any other resources they need.
Apps are due November 20th.

UCLA Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Map
Bruin Entrepreneursâ very own Startup Labs director, Paolo Shamoon, compiled a UCLA Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Map to give our general members a list of all of the entrepreneurship resources available on campus. This includes clubs, organizations, accelerator programs, and even non-UCLA affiliated programs, complete with descriptions and links. Sigma Eta Piâs Bruin Tank 2020
Come witness UCLAâs most innovative startups battle it out at Sigma Eta Piâs 2nd annual Bruin Tank pitch competition this Wednesday, November 11th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM (PST). Bruin Tank is an event inspired by the hit TV show âShark Tankâ where select student-led ventures will have the opportunity to pitch in front of a panel of high-profile venture capitalists and entrepreneurs for a chance to win thousands of dollars in grant funding, all in front of a 200+ person virtual audience.

Relief Organizations
Give Blck
Give Blck is a comprehensive database that compiles over 200 Black-founded nonprofits to help advocate their respective mission statements and give them a larger platform. They hope to alleviate societal problems while also empowering underrepresented communities by providing them with the resources, opportunities, and infrastructure to succeed. This is the first project from Work & Co Fundâs commitment to a $1mil investment in nonprofits to advance the Black community.
Feeding America
Feeding America is a domestic hunger-relief organization that is a network of over 200 food banks that provide support to millions of people. They are working to reduce hunger and food insecurity caused by the economic fallout of COVID-19. If you're willing, you can donate to their COVID-19 Response Fund here to help them purchase food and fund local food banks during this crisis.
